FET / Input Amplifier
PCB
Below are two images of the FET / Input
Amplifier PCB, blank and assembled, so you can check your work. Because
the resistors are 1%, metal film, Color Codes are provided for each part
in the Table below. The Schematic
is now a PDF file. Click here for the

NOTES
No matter which transformer you choose
- Cinemag, Sowter or St. Ives 31267 - all have a 4:1 ratio suitable
for our version of the 1176, so do not install R1 on the FET input PCB.
R1 is a "load" resistor that should only
be used with the original 1176 front end -- a 600-ohm T-attenuator (Input
Level) followed by a 1:1 transformer. Using R1 with the Neve
style input circuit will reduce the sensitivity, change the gain structure
and mess with your mind.
